Accommodations
There are now a total of five separate Steading Cottage conversions, each offering between one and three bedrooms and bathroom(s) available at Hearthstanes Steading. Each cottage has its own personality and private entrance accessible in the Steading area. For three decades, we have been generating our own hydroelectricity and now solar power, which powers the whole farm and provides clean energy for lighting and heating to the Steading.
In total, we can offer accommodation for up to twenty-five (25) guests and can provide baby cots and highchairs if required. A welcome pack of local goodies, linen, towels, basic household items, and kitchenware are supplied at no extra charge. We change linen and towels once per week for guests staying for more than one week.
Glenheurie Cottage

One of our largest capacity cottages is ideal for a family getaway or a friend's week in the Scottish countryside. The cottage has a wheelchair-accessible bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor along with the full kitchen and living spaces. Upstairs you can find two more bedrooms and a bathroom to fit the rest of the family’s needs.

Manyleith Cottage

Escape to the corner cottage with two bedrooms. Each bedroom has two single beds that can be combined to become super king beds. The cottage is great for a family of four or anyone else. The living and full-kitchen spaces are found on the ground floor, while the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs.

One of our largest capacity cottages is great for larger groups who need an escape from the city or want to explore the Scottish Borders. The cottage has living and full-kitchen spaces and one and a half bathrooms on the ground floor with spacious dining and living rooms. Each bedroom has two single beds (that can be combined to become a super king) and its own attached bathroom.

Mathieside Cottage

This cottage is best suited for a couple's retreat, but using the sofa-bed in the living room can accommodate up to four people. The cottage has living and full-kitchen spaces on the ground floor and an open staircase leading up to a spacious open bedroom with two single beds that can be combined to become a super king and attached bath.

Oliver Dod Cottage

This cottage is only available for overflow bookings when more beds are needed and the other steading cottages are included in the booking.
Sleeps 2 (1 Bedroom & 1 Bathroom)

The cottage is suitable for two individuals and has two single beds (that can be combined to become a super king) and a bathroom. The cottage has a comfortable living space and a kitchenette.

Every unit has a living room with an 81cm (32") FreeView television and integral DVD, and a well-appointed kitchen, and laundry facilities There is free Internet access (StarLink) throughout the Steading complex, as well as strong mobile phone coverage. We offer the facilities as self-catering accommodation. Eating out is currently available within six miles or Fridays and Saturdays at the Wee Crook across the road. Glenheurie Cottage (Steading No. 1) has one bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. Check-in is between 1500 hrs. (3:00 PM) and 2100 hrs. (9:00 PM) on the day of arrival and check-out is by 1200 hrs. (12:00 PM) on the day of departure, unless prior arrangements are made. Please provide card details to reserve cottage(s). Cash, card, or transfer (no checks) are accepted. Our terms and conditions provide further detail on cost, cancelations, and privacy.
In such a case of COVID-19, both Hearthstanes Steading and all members of the booking party will adhere to Scottish and UK Government rules and guidelines. Anti-COVID-19 measures for your and our safety - Cottages are UV & ozone-treated for 48 hours and then cleaned between occupancies.
